I hardly ever use this site anymore, but I'm still online, probably more than before. I can't believe I'm already in my third year of college...

Anyway, the best place to find me now is hollowfieddespair.tumblr.com/

You know, I really should be doing reading but whatever. Epic Beard Man just died! He deserves to have his chapter written about!
Anyway, this week spawned Bleach's 511th chapter titled "Death Whilst Standing." So yeah, I'm going to to a page-by-page commentary. I know it's more of a summary, but whatever…

I originally did this on tumblr so that's why the pictures are missing.

This was the first page. I woke up early today and read the chapter. I'm not even one full page (with panels) in and I'm already overcome with feels. Wonderful. This basically further confirmed Yama is dead.
Page 2: We're shown a flashback with "Youngamoto" and Shunsui Kyoraku as a child. Shunsui runs around and asks Yama about a certain picture hanging on the wall. The picture was of something resembling flames, and he remarked that Yama didn't seem to be the kind of guy to hang pictures on the wall. He said it looked like a mythical god of fire or something. This flashback just has too many feels.

Page 3: The flashback continues. Yama tells Shunsui that the thing in the picture was a monster that once attacked the Soul Society and made a serious mess of the place when it was already in turmoil. He asks what will happen if it reappears, and then the next panel is a large one containing nothing but Yama's face. The face basically says "I'm dead. It's over." Defeat is inevitable for poor Yama.

Page 4: We're shown Yama's wonderful facial hair in a wonderful final zoom-in. He is coughing up blood, but at least he showed us his teeth one last time…We then see Yama's body cut in half.Well, not exactly cut in half, but you get the point. He's dead. He then answers the young Shunsui's question in his head, remarking, "Then…I probably won't be coming back…" Page 4's image is here:

Page 5: The scene shifts to a dramatic zoom-in of Captains Kyoraku and Ukitake's faces, utterly shocked at what just happened. I'm not exactly sure how far away they are, but Yama's reiatsu vanishing is undoubtedly easily noticeable. Kyoraku loses composure, screaming out, "OLD MAN!" and gets shot by his gun-wielding Quincy opponent.

Page 6: The title of the chapter, "Bleach 511. Death Whilst Standing" is revealed. Other than the cool text arrangement, we see two feet and blood dripping on the ground.

Page 7: For the first time in the chapter, we see Juha Bach's smug face. He comments on how pitiful it is to see the so-called elder of the Shinigami die in such a way. Yama's body lies motionless on the ground. Also, I should add that it is now raining.

Page 8: Juha Bach finally reveals his blonde minion's name, Hashvald. So I guess there goes that theory that he was the "fake" Bach that died earlier. He tells him that they're leaving but just as they begin to walk away, Yamamoto, Zanpakuto in hand, grabs Juha Bach's foot. Or was it his cloak? Anyway, Bach retaliates by severing poor Yama's only arm with his reishi sword.

Page 9: Bach begins talking to Yama. He remarks how even posthumously, he still has no intentions of letting him leave. Then, being the stereotypical villain, Juha Bach steps on Yama's beautiful head. With his no-doubt rough shoes. He tells Yama that the reason why he lost is that he never follows things through, and that is also the reason why he didn't consider him as one of the "5 warring potentials." Perhaps Aizen was one of them? He also asks Yama why he didn't heal his left arm. A valid point.

Page 10: Bach's narrative continues, and he talks about how Orihime would've healed his arm if he ordered her to do so. He says that Yama didn't do this because he didn't want to depend on a human. Then he goes back to the battle with Aizen and discusses how Yama didn't want to rely on Ichigo. He tells Yama that he lost because he tries to carry the burden of the Soul Society, but of the entire world on his shoulders alone. Bach says that Yama has gotten soft, and that the former, younger Yamamoto was different.

Page 11: We get a brief flashback to when the Gotei 13 were first formed, and the squads were known only as "Divisions." Whoah, one of those captains had a seriously skinny head. Why did they basically just have to be silhouettes?! Anyway, Bach keeps talking, saying that the Divisions were "murderous thugs" and that is why they were feared. He tells Yama that he used to be a "sword demon," and would do whatever it took to cut down his foes, even if it meant losing subordinates. Yama never used to care about his subordinates. So basically, he could have been a stereotypical villain like Aizen or Bach. Apparently, according to Bach, everything changed when the Quincies were exterminated. Yama gained things to protect once peace began. This peace caused them to become weaker.

Page 12: Juha Bach then says that even though Yama is dead, he will still tell him something: "Soul Society is going to be destroyed. The Gotei 13 died a thousand years ago along with us."

Page 13: Super Quincy explosion. Bach turns to walk away. We see the shocked faces of Captains Unohana, Komamura, Hirako, and Hitsugaya. Bach tells Hashvald to tell all of the Sternritter that it is time to reduce the Soul Society to rubble.

Page 14: Two normal-sized hands and one Mickey Mouse-looking hand. Kyoraku's opponent begins to do something, telling soldiers to advance. Does this mean Kyoraku is out of the picture? It better not.

Page 15: Tons of Quincies pour out of nowhere. Could you even call them reinforcements if the battle was already so much in their favor to begin with…? And then a random Shinigami gets stabbed.

Page 16: The Quinciy "reinforcements" are all wearing gasmasks of some sort. More Shinigami die. Then we see some random Quincy that looks like Ikkaku except with a mohawk looking off into the distance despondently as the soldiers continue to march.

Page 17: We see Juha Bach, rain, and rubble. Bach says they're leaving and that with the main forces of the Gotei 13 decimated, the 0 Division will come out. They will retreat and wait for the 0 Division to appear. Finally! I've been ridiculously curious about the 0 Division! Kubo, you better not let us down when you reveal whatever is going on there. Perhaps Isshin is involved? And what of Captain Kirio Hikifune? Damn it, I want to see a strong female character! Please! She could be stronger than anyone seen thus far!

Page 18: Now, an explosion is seen in the sky behind Juha Bach. Bach has a look of total disbelief on his face. He has no idea what that was. Does this seem ridiculously similar to the time when Ichigo appeared from the sky behind Aizen in the Fake Karakura Town Arc? I really hope it isn't Ichigo. Please stay locked up in the Dangai until the 0 Division shows up, Ichigo. Please.

So yeah, that was chapter 511, "Death Whilst Standing." So many feels. Every time I like a character a lot, he or she dies. Ugh. So what's next? Uryu's current status? Ryuken's current status? A flashback? One of the Shinigami not currently in the Soul Society? Ichigo's current situation? That blade that randomly cut down Opie? Nel? Or will this scene continue? There's just so many possibilities for this Thousand-Year Blood War Arc.

I learned that Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will NEVER work on my campus. Ever. Apparently the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector thing isn't what I need to use, so I'm not getting one. And routers aren't allowed. So take that, you jerks on GameFAQs. They accused me of lying about not being able to get Genesect, being 15 years old, and many other things...</rant>

Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection IN COLLEGE. Because IT DOESN'T WORK. Genesect's event ends on November 12 and by the time I am home again where wi-fi actually WORKS, the event will have been over for at least a week. And after I waited so long for Genesect. I have Black 2 and I haven't started it because I've been trying to fix this stupid problem. I think I've exhausted every possible option.
